Forthcoming on SOS is the Mak & Pasteman’s Get With The Program EP.

The long awaited debut EP on SOS from the duo features the tracks “Move Somethin’”, “Chakra”, “Get With the Program” and “Heat”.  Hard to be pidgeonholed Mak & Pasteman are attracting attention from across the scene, so we’re expecting this release to get the producers the credit they deserve.. Four Big Tracks from two producers really moving this forward at the end of 2011. Listen to the preview here:

When did you first start producing/djing?
I started DJ’ing when i was 11. My dad was a DJ/radio host for years and that was when i got my first set of 1210′s.

I dabbled with garage and grime production in college but it was when i came to uni in Leeds and experienced subdub and metropolis that got me motivated to really write music. 


How long have you been involved in music for?
I was into the soul scene as a youngster from my dad being into soul & mod culture and those were the records i grew up hearing. I got involved in DJ’ing through a neighbour who ran a soundsystem and got more into techno and house playing my first rave at 14. From there on i heard a lot of jungle and garage and moved through that kind of transient development until i sort of came full circle into this techno / house infused bass music that i write.

What is your favourite food?
Ramen & Udon. Anything Japanese to be fair. 

Biggest influences on your style
I guess it’s a mixture of the soulful vocalists that i grew up with that influence my sample selection, the house and techno for the percussive elements and dubstep for the bass. I guess I find that whatever the music i listen to there is something that inspires me or i can hear something that could work in a different context.

I played a little set at glasto this year with my good friend Moleskin! Was a great versatile festival! 

Any other projects you wanna tell us about?
Me & Mak are working on an EP with Nottingham based Karizma as well as other EP’s for labels to come in 2012, we also have some very special VIP’s lined up. I have been working on a lot of material with Tanka too which will be dropping in 2012.To book them for January email jack@ilovesumo.com
